The electrical submersible pump is a type of kinetic centrifugal pump that converts mechanical energy into hydraulic energy. These pumps are designed to operate in wet installations, where, they are typically submerged in the liquid being pumped. However, the sophisticated design of several types of electrical submersible pumps also allows them to be operated in dry installations, especially for wastewater pumping applications. The arrangement of axial-flow electrical submersible pumps in a pumping station may differ in their position relative to the pump bay, suction, and discharge direction. The variant in installation arrangement for electrical submersible pumps, thus, provides flexibility for a wide range of applications. This paper intended to establish a comparative review on various installation arrangements of axial-flow electrical submersible pumping station.
